Pickle Caster

Date: 1873

This dish was used for holding pickles, and features a tall castle design in the glass, including a brick pattern and windows. The lid is in the shape of the castle tower, complete with crenellations. This pickle caster was used not only to serve pickles and other condiments at the table, but to also flaunt the family’s elegant dishes. This object can be viewed in the Dining room.
