Visit Rancho Los Cerritos

Please note that the Rancho will close at 4pm on Sunday, October 21, for the Stardusk Dinner Dance, RLC’s main fundraising event, which supports educational programming. Thank you for your understanding.


Museum Hours

Open: Wednesday – Sunday: 1-5 p.m.

Closed: Mondays and Tuesdays, and for the following holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Admission & Parking

Admission, public tours, and parking are free, although donations are appreciated. General parking is available at the lot on Virginia Road directly across from the museum gate; for accessible parking, proceed through the gate to the upper lot.

Guided Tours

Tours are available whenever the museum is open and last approximately one hour. We suggest arriving by 4 p.m. in order to receive a guided tour before the museum’s 5 p.m. closing.

Garden tours are Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting, and by special request.

The Rancho offers a scenic picnic area with benches near the California Native Garden. There are no food or drinks available for purchase on site. The area surrounding the Rancho offers dozens of restaurants and cafes.

Non-professional photography shoots with a group of four people or less are free to the public from 1 pm -4:30 pm in the backyard, garden paths, native gardens and orchard. We ask that all photo shoots please call ahead for availability at the Rancho that day.

Those who would like to book a professional photography shoot that use a professional photographer, props, and costume changes are asked to donate a $135/hour. A professional shoot will allow the parties involved to utilize more areas of the Rancho during public and non-public hours. Professional shoots are to be pre-arranged with our development department. We ask that all photo shoots please call ahead for availability at the Rancho that day.

We ask that all photo groups check in at the Visitor’s Center prior to taking photos.
