Rancho Los Cerritos Debuts Fiesta del Rancho with Site-Wide History Activations, Food, and Music

The summer festival invites visitors to explore regional history through era-themed activations, live performances, local food vendors, and family-friendly activities.

Rancho Los Cerritos will host its first Fiesta del Rancho on Saturday, July 11, transforming the historic landmark into a summer festival with local food, live music, family activities, and site-wide experiences that bring regional history to life.

Held from 12 to 5 p.m., the all-ages festival will invite guests to move through different areas of the site activated with immersive reenactments representing key eras in the Rancho’s history, from cattle and sheep ranching to the 1930s. Visitors can also explore the adobe home and gardens, visit the current exhibition, Seeds of Resilience: Barrio Americano, and enjoy lawn games, crafts, and hands-on activities across the Rancho.

“Fiesta del Rancho invites the public to experience Rancho Los Cerritos not only as a historic site, but as a place where the stories of this region continue to be shared and carried forward,” said Alison Bruesehoff, Executive Director of Rancho Los Cerritos. “We are grateful to the Port of Long Beach for supporting this celebration and helping create accessible opportunities for visitors to connect with the communities who shaped the Rancho.”

The festival brings together past and present through a lineup of local vendors and performers. Guests can enjoy food and beverages from Tony’s Kitchen, Battambong BBQ, Dutch’s Brewhouse, Cali Cuisine, Very Berry Sweets Co., and Rene’s Churros. Live entertainment will include Long Beach-based indie folk rock band Fine Folk, known for rich acoustic instrumentation and poetic lyrics, as well as Bread & Butter performing jazz standards and boleros inspired by the sounds of the 1930s and 1940s.

Guests are also encouraged to bring a children’s book donation for the Rancho’s Book Barn. Donated books will support future Storytime at the Rancho programs, and donors will receive a free treat during the festival.

Admission is $10 per person
