Using a live demonstration of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology, Larry Rich will share his collection of historic maps to compare and contrast past landscapes with our current urbanized setting. Larry has worked for the City of Long Beach for more than 30 years after completing a Geography degree from Cal State Long Beach. He has been a lifelong student of the interplay of local history and geography and enjoys sharing this specialized information with others.
