Step Into 180 years of Celebration at Rancho Los Cerritos’ Holiday Open House

This December, Rancho Los Cerritos (RLC) invites you to take a step back in time and experience the magic of the holidays as they were celebrated over the past 182 years, beginning when the historic adobe home was first built. The site’s Holiday Open House returns on Friday, December 12, offering guests an enchanting evening of tradition, community, and seasonal cheer.
From 4 PM to 8 PM, the historic adobe and grounds will come alive with candlelit tours, costumed docents, and holiday music, all designed to showcase the evolving holiday customs of different eras and cultures from RLC’s history. Visitors will stroll through festively decorated rooms while learning about holiday traditions from the 19th and 20th centuries.
RLC is excited to bring history to life through the lens of the holidays and present a unique way to connect with the past while creating new memories with family and friends. In addition to guided experiences, guests can explore the historic gardens, enjoy holiday tunes performed by the local musicians, and shop for one-of-a-kind holiday gifts at the Museum Shop. A dedicated arts & crafts area will offer hands-on fun for all ages — perfect for families with children or anyone feeling crafty.
To complete the cozy atmosphere, warm apple cider and other refreshments will be served throughout the evening.
The Holiday Open House is free to attend, though donations are welcome to support the preservation and educational programs of Rancho Los Cerritos.
