Family Fun at the Rancho
Using a variety of colorful materials, children can experiment with old-fashioned arts and crafts. This free, drop-in program takes place from 1-4 p.m. on the first Saturday of every month, October through June. Check the upcoming events calendar for each month’s theme.
Learn all about our adobe soil and its many uses at one of the muddiest, wackiest festivals in Southern California! Make real adobe bricks; construct mini adobe homes; compete in mud relay races; throw clay pots; explore archaeology; and much more! “Clean” activities and crafts are available, too. Live bluegrass music plays throughout the afternoon, and food and drinks are available for purchase.
Rancho Adventures tours encourage children to learn about daily life on a 19thcentury California ranch by exploring the 1844 adobe house, doing historic chores, and playing old-fashioned games. These fast-paced, highly interactive tours are available to groups of 6-24 people. Rancho Adventure tours last approximately 90 minutes, and the fee is $3 per person. Please call (562) 206-2040 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for details or to reserve a date!
Picnicking On Site
RLC has several picnic tables, all of which are free for public use during open hours. Enjoy a snack or lunch with your family, then take a tour or explore the grounds independently! The garden is open to all (the historic home can only be seen by taking a free tour).
