The Museum Shop contains unique items, toys and books on California history that reflect the history and mission of the Rancho. Shop for specialty items including notecards, jams made from the garden’s bounty, handmade scented soaps and pressed flower candles.
For children, the Gift Shop carries old-time toys including La Grace Hoops, tin whistles and marbles as well as a wide array of books. An ever-changing selection of adult literature on California history, gardens and Victorian lifestyles is also available. “Adobe Days“, by Sarah Bixby Smith, provides a lively account of California “between the mining rush and the tourist rush,” and offers rare glimpses of daily life at Rancho Los Cerritos in the 19th century. Dr. Iris Engstrand’s “Rancho Los Cerritos: A Southern California Legacy Preserved” offers an informative overview of the Rancho from Native American times through the present.
The Museum Shop is open Wednesday-Sunday between 1-5 p.m. Every purchase helps support educational programs and public events at the Rancho.
