Photograph Album

Purple velvet with zinc embellishments, currently on display in the parlor

Donated by Friends of Rancho Los Cerritos

Date made1880 – 1900

This nineteen-page album showcases skillful zinc handiwork, seen on the scripted text “Album” across the front and zinc-plated closure with spring mechanism. Along the back of this album are four brass bosses which serve as feet when it is lying on a flat surface. Inside, the pages have gilt edges with a layout which holds one to four images on each side of a page. Currently the album still holds its original photographs.
