Laundry Agitator
Before laundry machines, when washing clothes in a boiler or tub, someone would need to manually agitate the clothes in order to clean them. This tool, made up of a tin metal cone attached to a wood dowel handle, was used to work water through laundry to wash away dirt. This item can be viewed in the Laundry room, where it was used.
