Explore the Pedestrian Pathway and Disabled Parking Zone

In 1931 few of the Bixby’s guests walked up the hill so no path was required. In 2012 when the parking lot was built across the street, provision for a safe route to the visitor center was needed. The path allows views into the arroyo with a couple of educational signs and seating along the way. The sound of birdsong and the breeze through the trees helps guests to decompress from the busy urban lifestyle as they climb the gentle hill to reach the visitor center. There are some shallow steps so be aware that there are disabled parking spaces next to the building, or guests can be dropped off at the top of the hill before the car is parked in the lot below.
